Emerging from the East Bay, Scheherazade weaves humor and imagination into her stand-up performances, confronting modern absurdities head-on. Away from the spotlight, her passion extends to crafting enriching educational experiences for Bay Area's youth. In an upcoming event, anticipate an exceptional experience as she presents a speculative fiction story, framed as a narrative poem. In this imaginative tale, the monkeys of Neuralink rebel, showcasing Scheherazade's talent in crafting vivid, unconventional narratives.
Tirumari Jothi (@tirumario) He/Him
Tirumari is a multi-faceted comedic talent hailing from the Bay Area, renowned for his geeky stand-up routines, improvisations, and compelling sketch comedy. When not lighting up the stage, you might catch him deep in the world of competitive video games, often humorously admitting defeat at the hands of children. Lauren L. Wheeler (@fightinw0rds) She/Her
Lauren L. Wheeler writes poetry, fiction, nonfiction, and what happens when they rub up against each other. A recovering slam poet, Lauren is the author of the poetry collection In Between Places (Nomadic Press, 2022). Her work has appeared online and in print in such publications as PANK, The Nervous Breakdown, The Rumpus, and the pop-culture website Black Nerd Problems.
Jordan Ranft (@jorbanramft) He/Him
Jordan Ranft is a writer and clinical social worker based in the Northbay. With contributions to SF Weekly, East bay express, and more heโs written reviews and essays on a variety of topics with a focus on music journalism. His literary skill further shines with a notable "Best of the Net'' award nomination in poetry. Jordan recently released his first collection of poetry entitled โSaid the Wormsโ
Danielle Truppi (@dtruppi) She/Her
Hailing from California's Inland Empire, Danielle Truppi masterfully co-hosts and co-creates the reading series "Happy Endings," a staple literary event at the Make-Out Room in San Francisco every 2nd Tuesday of the month. Armed with an MFA in fiction from SFSU and currently pursuing a master's in library and information science, Danielle weaves tales that delve into the realms of bugs and anxiety, both of which will likely be addressed at Literary Pop.
